, ably and generously coordinated by the inimitable Lin Schorr Mixed Media Mosaics-Community Projects & Events

The magical glow of a soft tropical evening is rendered using vintage aqua-green Japanese Nippon Lustreware, renowned for it's iridescent sheen, and discarded dishware with a rain forest motif, to depict the foliage, while translucent scrap stained glass in various shades of violet, with an added glow from the shiny silver aluminum plate substrate underneath, suggests the deep gleam of gloaming just before darkness envelopes the islands. Glass chips, iridescent glass seed beads and Italian glass millefiore add depth and texture while highlighting the shapes and accentuating the colors that shine in the sweet-smelling evenings in magical, mystical Tahiti.
MATERIALS: hand-cut vintage Nippon (Japanese) Lustreware and discarded dishes; scrap stained glass; Italian glass millefiore; glass beads and hand painted grout on salvaged stamped aluminum plate with gloss sealer. For INDOOR use only.
